Terms & Conditions


1. A one off Registration fee of £25 for each child is required on enrolment. This covers our administrative costs for the duration of their time at BBA. Please pay this via the portal. 

2. Fees are payable half termly ( 6 or 7 weekly) on or before the last day of the current term. Failure to do so will result in your child potentially losing their place (unless you have prior written consent from BBA as regards fee payment). There are no refunds if a pupil is absent from a class for any reason and no reductions for part term attendance. If a class is cancelled, it will be rescheduled. If it is not possible to reschedule, fees will be subtracted from the forthcoming terms fees.

If it is necessary to cancel a class due to Covid-19, adverse weather conditions, or circumstances out of our control, class fees will not be refunded.

3. Fees are subject to change and BBA will ensure that any increases will have minimum impact. 

4. Siblings will receive a 5% discount off their fees.

5. A half term’s notice (6 weeks) is required should you wish to withdraw your child from the school or drop a class. Failure to do so will incur fees in lieu of notice and may be taken to a small claims court to recover the debt. 

6. Private lessons and coaching sessions are to be paid in advance and in full when booked. 

7. Students are expected to attend classes in the correct uniform. Girls - BBA Navy leotard, pink or skin tone convertible ballet tights or socks, pink or skin tone canvas split sole shoes, hair in a bun from Grade 1 upwards.

Boys - BBA navy leotard, navy blue shirts, white ankle socks, white canvas split sole shoes. BBA sweatshirt

For Jazz classes they need either Navy or Black shorts and an optional Cropped top . Hair may be in a pony tail. 

8. Jewellery - only small stud earrings are permitted for safety reasons. Girls in Advanced ballet may wear a discreet necklace and drop earrings. 

9. Please encourage your child to go to the toilet prior to class, as it is disruptive and wastes lesson time. 

10. BBA does not accept responsibility for loss or damage to property left on the premises, but will endeavour to hold onto items we find left at the premises. All items should be named

11.BBA students will work towards graded and vocational exams, however exams are not compulsory, should you not wish your child to participate. All students from Grade 2 must attend Ballet twice a week.

12. The BBA principal will decide when your child is ready for pointe work. This will be decided on strength of foot and ankle, strength and articulation of metatarsals and core stability.

13. BBA requests that children arrive promptly for class, underchanged to avoid delay in starting lessons. 

14. Children under the age of 8 will not be permitted to leave the building without a parent or guardian.

15. BBA requests permission to photograph or video their students for publicity purposes. Please let us know in writing if you do not give consent to this, otherwise without written notice we will presume you give your consent. 

16. It may be necessary to use physical contact where helping to improve a child's posture or to assist in movements and to help a child understand a correction. This will be done with care and discretion and in strict accordance with the schools Child Protection Policy.

17. Classes run back to back on the timetable without a break. Pupils should be dressed and ready to start their class before entering the studio & leave promptly at the end.

18. Parents will refrain from entering the building unless it is an emergency 

19. Parents will collect their child promptly at the end of each lesson.

20. AS A PARENT AT BECKENHAM BALLET ACADEMY  I ALSO UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING:

  • Fees are due at the end of the previous term for the following term.
  • Any abuse to members of staff from parents, or pupils, verbally, by text, email, social networking site or other websites will mean instant dismissal of the child with no fees given back for any of the remaining term
  • NO fees are refundable for ANY reason – this includes illness, show fees if you pull out of the show, summer school fees, or any dance fees if a child is dismissed for bad behaviour to staff or fellow students.
